John Cavalier (Founder – Co-Managing Partner)

John Cavalier has been one of the most highly regarded leaders and visionaries in the clean energy community, with extensive experience in strategic advisory and corporate finance for sustainable energy companies. He currently serves as Chairperson of EPIC Star Energy, and as Senior Advisor to Roth Capital, Ancoris Capital, Activate Capital and Braemar Energy Ventures.

Mr. Cavalier has extensive expertise in ESG-oriented investments. In 2008, Mr. Cavalier became Managing Partner of Hudson Clean Energy Partners, a global private equity fund with assets under management of $1.4 billion, a position from which he retired in 2015. However, Mr. Cavalier continues to play an important role with organizations that provide ESG guidance to the investment community.

Mr. Cavalier brings considerable advisory experience, having served in several executive roles at Credit Suisse Group AG (“Credit Suisse”). In 2005, while serving as Global Chairman of the Credit Suisse Energy Group, and Vice Chair of the broader bank, Mr. Cavalier founded the first investment banking effort dedicated to renewable energy. In that capacity, he was the lead advisor on the initial public offerings of companies including SunPower Corporation, SuntechPower Holdings Co., Ltd, First Solar, Inc., REC Solar Holdings AS, Cosan Limited, EnerNOC, Inc., Iberdrola Renovables Energia S.A.U. and others. Mr. Cavalier has also served as financial advisor to and has conducted significant capital raises for leading renewable energy companies globally, and was the first recipient of the Bloomberg Finance “Renewables Banker of the Year” award. Until recently, Mr. Cavalier served as Senior Advisor to the Global Utility, Infrastructure and Renewables Group at Credit Suisse.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Cavalier was a founding member of the Power & Utilities Group at Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette (“DLJ”), where he started and ran the DLJ Energy Technology Group in addition to working closely with traditional energy companies. Mr. Cavalier began his investment banking career after nine years in the United States Army, having been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his work in the Judge Advocates Generalʼs Corps. He holds degrees from the US Military Academy, University of Illinois Law School and Harvard Business School.

JASON SATSKY (CO-MANAGING PARTNER) 

Jason Satsky has three decades of experience in Investment Banking, most recently as Global Head of Power, Utilities and Energy Infrastructure Investment Banking at Bank of America, based in New York where he also sat on the firm’s Equity Commitment Committee, the Managing Director Evaluation Committee and helped lead the firm’s financed emissions task force. He left Bank of America to join CRIS in April of 2025.

His clients include traditional industrial corporations, investor-owned utilities and unregulated power, LNG, midstream, renewables and energy infrastructure companies as well as financial sponsors. He has advised on debt/equity and structured/project financings as well as over USD$250bn in complex M&A assignments.

Mr. Satsky joined Bank of America from Credit Suisse in 2012 after eight years there in the global energy group. Prior to that, he spent six years at Wasserstein Perella, and its successor firm DrKW, focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions in the energy/infrastructure space and began his career at Salomon Smith Barney specializing in buy- and sell-side advisory in the infrastructure sector as well as project and structured financings.

He holds JD and MBA degrees from the Duke University School of Law and Duke's Fuqua School of Business, has a BA in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania and has also studied at Oxford University and law at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Anne Frank-Shapiro (Chief Operating Officer)

Anne Frank-Shapiro has over 30 years of senior operational experience at private equity firms, SPACs and a global investment bank.

Most recently, Ms. Frank-Shapiro served as Chief Operating Officer at Climate Real Impact Solutions I and II SPACs. Previously, Ms. Frank-Shapiro served as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of PE firm, Pegasus Capital Advisors from 2013 to 2019. Prior to Pegasus Capital Advisors, she held the same titles (CAO and CCO) for global PE firm, Hudson Clean Energy Partners.

During 20+ years at Credit Suisse, Ms. Frank-Shapiro held senior positions in the Investment Banking Division including COO for Global Emerging Markets head and led IBD’s Global Expense Management. Ms. Frank-Shapiro advanced IBD client coverage strategy and account reviews, designed client profitability models (subsequently rolled out across CS), and served as COO for cross-divisional initiatives, including expanding structured products and large cap coverage across CS.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Ms. Frank-Shapiro served as CAO at NYC Department of Environmental Protection managing a $4.2 billion capital budget.

Ms. Frank Shapiro currently serves as a Trustee of The Town Hall, a national historic landmark venue in NYC.

Bryan fennell (managing director)

Bryan J. Fennell is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in infrastructure, renewable energy, and utility projects with significant transactional and operating experience. Currently, Bryan is President of Astrol Power LLC, a company formed for the purpose of acquiring solar and storage projects in the US. Previously, he was a Managing Member of Renaissance Environmental Services, LLC, where he oversaw the development of medical waste disposal services using gasification technology. Since 2016, Bryan has also been a Principal at Banyan Tree Partners, LLC, providing strategic advisory services to energy project developers focusing on project structuring and capital raises.

Previously, Bryan served as the Managing Director at Marathon Capital, focusing on renewable energy transactions in the U.S. and Latin America. He held multiple roles at NextEra Energy Resources (NEER), including Vice President of Development and Regional Vice President, managing significant acquisitions and divestitures as well as leading the asset management function for the largest region in the NEER portfolio.

Prior to that, Bryan worked as an investment banker with several major power and utility banks advising on strategic advisory, M&A and capital raising activities. Earlier in his career, he was a project developer responsible for developing and financing several gas fired cogeneration projects throughout the US.

Over the course of his career, Bryan has successfully completed over $15.0 billion of transactions in the power and utility space, including cogeneration and independent power, renewables, nuclear power, electric transmission, waste to energy and natural gas transmission and distribution.

Bryan holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from Fordham University and a BS in Engineering from the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He is also certified as a Six Sigma Executive Black Belt. He is actively involved in community service as a board member of the Rock Harbor Foundation, supporting military veterans, first responders, and at-risk youths.
